The Maryland Development Agenda (MDA), commissioned by the Liberian NGO, Marylanders for Progress (Liberia) Inc., outlined the need for the use of solar energy for schools, clinics and the JJ Dossen Memorial Hospital. <<click here>>

MARYLAND/LIBERIA SISTER STATES DELEGATION TO TRAVEL TO LIBERIA ON A FACT FINDING MISSION

Annapolis, MD/This week a delegation of business, civic, and education leaders will visit the Republic of Liberia. The delegation plans to officially consummate the State of Maryland, USA/Republic of Liberia Sister States relationship.  This relationship was established on August 27, 2007 via a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Maryland (USA) Governor Martin O’Malley and Liberia’s Superintendents Ranney Jackson and Sie Teba Neufville of Bong and Maryland Counties.  Read more >>>>

Dear MFP family and friends,

With much gratitude, I would like to thank each and all of you for being a part of this wonderful organization. There is so much to be thankful for as God continues to bless us bountifully. It is my belief that the year 2007 has been our most successful as of date.  Borrowing a passage from the old gospel song "Count your many blessings, name them one by one and see what God has done", here is a summary of how God has blessed us this year:
 
January - Your Board of Directors made a wise decision in selecting Mr. Christian Herbert to serve as Project Director of MFP's already registered  NGO in Liberia. With no hesitation, he accepted and continues to serve without compensation.

January/February - Mr. Herbert and team travels to Maryland County where a comprehensive Needs Assessment of all 4 districts is conducted.

                          MFP-NGO ANNUAL REPORT

The Report, which covers the period January – December 2007, recounts the activities, achievements and setbacks of Marylanders for Progress (Liberia) Inc,. The Report is written primarily for the consideration of the MFP Board of Directors as well as its membership.

                 REPORT FROM MARYLAND COUNTY
Roberta Brown arrives in Monrovia, Liberia to begin her visit with Marylanders and Maryland County. On arrival at Robertsfield International Airport, she was received by the Grebo Governor, Mrs. Sophie Davis of Marylanders residing in Monrovia, Mr. Christian Herbert, project director of MFP/NGO and his team and family.
